Overlooking the charming town of Pińczów and its scenic surroundings, this small religious building was crafted in the Mannerist style by the renowned Italian architect Santi Gucci around 1600. This exquisite chapel, with its square plan and dome topped by a lantern, stands out as the first independent domed chapel in Renaissance architecture. Its design blends elegance and history, inviting visitors to step back in time and marvel at its architectural beauty.

WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT THIS PLACE

St. Anna's Chapel in Pińczów is an original work in the mannerist style. The building captivates with its location and simple shape with excellent proportions. To build the foundation walls, facades and details, the architect used his favorite local stone: limestone, the so-called pinczaka. The facades are rough and have a clear design of stone ashlars. The walls were set on a high plinth and closed with a profiled frame. The architect emphasized the corners with pilasters. The building features a dome with a lantern.
