BRIEF DESCRIPTION
With 90 years of history, Kazakh National Agrarian Research University is a leader in agrarian education and science. Originally established in Almaty as the Kazakh Agricultural Institute, its main building was constructed in two phases: the left wing in 1934 by architect N. Petrov, and the central and right wings in 1954 by architect V. Biryukov.
WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT THIS PLACE
The university's architectural charm lies in its three-part structure, blending classic style with elements of national decoration. A prominent portico marks the entrance to the central three-storey risalit, adorned with multifaceted paired and single semi-columns featuring ornate capitals and bases.
THIS PLACE IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE
This structure is designated as a Monument of local importance, as it is cherished for its unique fusion of classical and Soviet architectural styles. While outwardly appearing as an ordinary university, it holds a significant place in Kazakhstan's architectural heritage and cultural education.
