Stronghold No. 53 is a hidden gem nestled near the coast at the southern end of Jinsha Village, Nangan. Accessible via a narrow, winding path through dense forest, this well-preserved site invites you to step back in time. As you enter, you’re greeted by a plaza featuring stairs that lead to two machine gun bunkers: the Confidence Bunker and the Anti-Communist Bunker.
Explore the tunnel on the right that leads to the 57 anti-tank gun position, or venture left to discover the unique Piano Bunker, a two-level structure equipped with machine gun openings and a 40mm anti-aircraft gun. The curved design of the bunker offers stunning views, reflecting its strategic military purpose. With ongoing restoration efforts, the original layout and landscape will be preserved while adapting some spaces for exhibitions and artistic use, making this site a dynamic fusion of history and contemporary creativity.
