The house, located on the corner of the streets of Despić and Obala Kulina Bana, is one of the few preserved residential buildings of an Orthodox family dating from the Ottoman period. It is located within the cultural and historical centre of Baščaršija, in the area once known as Latinluk. Despić House in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a notable historical and cultural landmark. Originally owned by the affluent Despić family, who were prominent merchants, the house showcases a blend of traditional Ottoman and European architectural styles, reflecting the multicultural heritage of the region. The Despić family were influential in the cultural and social life of Sarajevo, and their home has been preserved as a museum. The house was built over three different periods and it is an outstanding example of the development of architecture in this area.
