Jinsha Settlement

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Located at the foot of Yuntai Mountain in the southwest of Nangan Island, Jinsha Settlement is a beautiful seaside village where time seems to have stood still. The village got its name ‘Jinsha’ (golden sand) because the fine golden-coloured sand (金沙) on the beach in the bay sparkles in the sun, and it was later written as ‘Jinsha’ (津沙). The well-preserved traditional eastern Fujian stone house complex, winding stone steps and narrow alleys showcase the rich cultural heritage of Matsu, a perfect combination of natural beauty and historical charm.
