ABOUT US
Il Bosco A.P.S.S.D
IL BOSCO APSSD, a third-sector organization located at Via Statale 94, Terre del Reno, FE, conducts A.A.I. (Animal-Assisted Interventions, formerly known as "pet therapy"), in accordance with the current regulations outlined in the State-Regions Agreement of March 25, 2015. It was established in January 2021 through the initiative of 7 friends and professionals.
A.A.I. comprises activities that encourage interaction between the user and the animal. This interaction brings physical, psychological, cognitive, and recreational benefits to the participant. The interventions are designed for individuals of all ages, both typically developing and belonging to categories with disorders in the physical, neuromotor, and psychological spheres, regardless of the underlying cause.
The species covered by the agreement are five: horse, donkey, dog, rabbit, and cat, all of which are present at our facility and highly socialized towards humans. Additionally, all the required operator roles specified by current regulations are present.
THE FARM
Il Bosco A.P.S.S.D
IL BOSCO A.P.S.S.D extends over approximately 5 hectares, with a portion dedicated to cultivation and about 2 and a half hectares to prefabricated structures, enclosures, and fields for activities. The "Club House" features a multipurpose hall and a spacious paved porch, which also houses offices and restrooms. The facility includes various paddocks and meadows for horses and donkeys, equipped with watering troughs and feeders, surrounded by trees providing ample shaded areas.
Additionally, we have large enclosures designed for rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens. To enhance the land, we have projects related to horticulture and vermiculture. The practiced sport is horseback riding; the association, in fact, has an equestrian school with a Level II federal instructor from FISE and ASI. The association is affiliated with ASI, an organization recognized by CONI.

WHAT WE DO
Two Donkeys
Two donkeys live on our premises in a large enclosure spread over two levels, well-shaded and featuring a small shed enclosed on three and a half sides. They are highly socialized animals, empathetic and impossible to ignore! With them and other animals, we carry out A.A.A. (Animal Assisted Activities), both collective and individual, involving all five specified species. E.A.A. activities will soon be conducted as we are in the process of obtaining recognition as a non-specialized facility for I.A.A. (Animal Assisted Interventions). These activities have an educational purpose to promote well-being, growth capabilities, interaction, and integration into society through mediation with animals.

THE EXPERIENCE WE OFFER
Animal-assisted activities
AAA – Individual A.A.A. sessions, lasting about an hour, involve only one person, either an adult or a child. The focus is on enhancing contact with animals, fostering communicative exchange and connection with them, as well as promoting respect and knowledge.
Group A.A.A. sessions, lasting 2 hours, are designed for children aged 3 to 11. Typically, they are structured with an initial segment involving activities and games with the animals, followed by a second part with hands-on activities themed around the day. We aim to emphasize group work, socialization, and collaboration among the participants.
Summer camps
SUMMER CAMPS: Weeks focused on contact with animals and nature, aimed at introducing and fostering respect for living beings different from us in a serene and collaborative environment, also learning to take care of them and respond to their needs. Workshop activities where children can concretely create small projects individually or collaborate on a more elaborate common project.
