Armando Vittorio Diaz
Armando Vittorio Diaz was born on 5 December 1861 in Naples. While still very young, he was initiated into the military career and began his course at the Military Academy of Artillery in Turin. He was an Italian general, Chief of Staff of the Royal Army during the First World War. He was awarded the title of Duke of Victory at the end of the conflict and would later become Minister of War and Marshal of Italy.
Giovan Battista Marino
Giovan Battista Marino was born in Naples on 14 October 1569. He is considered the founder of Baroque poetry and its greatest Italian exponent. His influence on seventeenth-century Italian and European literature was immense. Marino's work is at the origin of a poetic conception that soon became established in all the major countries of the continent.

WHAT TO EAT
Babà
The babà is a sweet symbol of Naples and the jewel in the crown of Neapolitan pastry making. The main ingredients are flour, brewer's yeast, butter, eggs, rum, jam, custard and black cherries in syrup.
Pastiera
During the Easter period, Neapolitan kitchens witness the traditional preparation of the Neapolitan pastiera. A real ritual, made up of gestures and secrets handed down from generation to generation. The main ingredients are flour, eggs, butter, ricotta cheese, milk and honey.
Casatiello
Casatiello napoletano is a rustic preparation that is the star of the Easter menu. The unmistakable feature? The fresh eggs encased in the dough. The main ingredients are: flour, brewer's yeast, salami, pecorino cheese, eggs.

Piazza del Plebiscito
Piazza del Plebiscito is the square symbol of Naples and is located at the end of Via Toledo, just after Piazza Trieste e Trento.
It is 25,000 square metres wide and is often used for events, demonstrations or classical music concerts of national importance.
Palazzo Reale
The Royal Palace was built in the 16th century during the Spanish viceroyalty, but was also the residence of the Bourbons, Joachim Murat and the Savoy family. King Victor Emmanuel III ceded it to the State in 1919 and it is now a museum, especially in the area of the Royal Apartments, as well as housing the National Library.
Castel dell'Ovo
Castel dell'Ovo stands on the islet of Megaride and is the oldest castle in Naples. Inside, there is the Hall of Columns from the Roman villa of Lucullus, the terraces with the Spanish cannons, the Main and Norman Towers and the monks' rooms.
