Zamkowe Hill in Kielce (289 m above sea level) is undoubtedly the most recognizable landmark in Kielce. At its summit stands the magnificent Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose origins date back to the 12th century. The current structure is after modern reconstruction in the neo-Baroque style. The temple is today one of the most important religious monuments in the region. The cathedral, along with the neighboring Palace of the Bishops of Krakow, was once an integral part of the city’s defensive system. The palace, built in the 17th century, is now a branch of the National Museum in Kielce. The building captivates with its early Baroque architecture and rich history. The Italian Garden complements the palace. Its symmetrical layout and rich vegetation make it a unique place, combining the beauty of nature and the art of gardening
