MUST-SEE

Dance hall in the Račín valley

The Art Nouveau ballroom was built by Cardinal Georg Kopp, Bishop of Breslau, in 1906-1907. Inside was a restaurant, a large ballroom and a guesthouse. After Cardinal Kopp, the ballroom took the name Georgs Hall. Before the war it was a popular tourist destination and parties were held every weekend. The park around the house was also adorned with rhododendrons, ornamental trees and a relaxation area.

Čechy pod Kosířem Castle

A neoclassical-style castle surrounded by a 21.5-hectare English-style park is linked to the noble Silva Tarouca family. The famous Czech painter Josef Mánes, who regularly visited Čechy pod Kosířem and worked here between 1849 and 1870, was a friend of the family. Today we can find the largest collection of his paintings here.

Prostějov

This elegant city impresses with its friendly and orderly appearance. It is like leafing through an architectural history book. Here you will find a variety of many artistic movements. Great architects have left their "writing" here. We recommend visiting T. G. Masaryk with the New City Hall and the tower that is the landmark of the city. The undisputed pride of Prostějov is the National House, called the pearl of Art Nouveau.
